Autism Flies is coming to Dallas Love Field! Presented in partnership with our Autism Double-Checked Certified airline partner JSX, this free practice boarding event will help families become more familiar with the airport and boarding experience in a supportive, low-stress environment.
On the day of the event, participating families will arrive at the JSX hangar, check in and receive their boarding passes, then wait in the JSX lounge for their boarding call. Once onboard, participants will choose an available seat, fasten their seat belts, listen to the onboard announcements and then deplane. This is a practice experience only. The aircraft will not take flight.
Because aircraft seating is very limited, each family may reserve two aircraft seats: one for the participating child and one for a parent or caregiver. Additional registered family members, including siblings, are welcome to remain in the JSX lounge during the practice boarding experience and greet participants when they return.
Families with more than one autistic child who would like to participate should contact Autism Double-Checked before registering.
After the practice boarding event, registered families may also choose to attend a special performance by autistic magician and self-advocate Cody Clark at Virgin Hotels Dallas. Attendance is optional and must be selected during registration. All registered family members, including those with lounge-only access, are welcome to attend.
Best of all, the practice boarding event, parking and magic show are offered free of charge.
Space is very limited, so we encourage families to register as soon as possible. Participation will be confirmed by email from Autism Flies.
